v3 is now live

So v3 is now live on the app store - only a few days after sending if for review - another good turnaround from Apple.

I am now porting the synchronisation changes into the iPad version which I hope to release soon.

My iPhone4 arrives next Thursday so then I can start taking advantage of some of the new iOS4 features.

Any feedback or issues with v3 then please do let me know.

v3.0 released to Apple

Finally finished a pretty major revamp of iThoughts for iPhone. What started as an exercise in simply porting some of the lessons learnt from the iPad version (iThoughtsHD) turned into a pretty major piece of work!

The headline features?

- In place topic edit (making it much quicker to get those ideas down.)
- Dropbox integration (cloud storage)
- Multiple background canvases.
- Lots of bug fixes and general UI tweaks (e.g. manually controlled toolbars, better hit test for expand/collapse etc)

...oh and a little old feature I like to call ‘synchronsiation’

Not sure how long Apple will take to review this version given the pending iPhone v4 release - but it’s in the system and on its way!

I’ve been working hard on porting some of the features from iThoughtsHD (for the iPad) back into iThoughts for the iPhone - and below you can see an early preview of iThoughts v3 in action.

iThoughtsHD (iThoughts for iPad) is live

iThoughtsHD is what happens when you take the iThoughts layout engine and import/export logic then iPad it up!

Now live on the App store - take a look over at www.ipadmindmap.com

What does this mean for iThoughts for iPhone? Well in developing specifically for the iPad I learnt a whole lot more about user interface design - and intend to roll much of that back into iThoughts.

I’ve also been working on a whole bunch of new features and integrations that I hope to announce soon...

2.7 is live

4 days for approval - another happy customer! Take a look at this for details about the latest 2.7 release.

It is now time nail the iPad version - I’m hoping to publish some preview video clips of it in action any day now.

It is looking pretty good if I do say so myself. I slightly underestimated just how different the iPad is and as such how much different the UI needs to be - but the end result will be awesome.
